I USE my tents in the winter so when I come back from camp they are draped rather unceremoniously over my motorbike in the garage for a week to dry out, then packed neatly away for a week in preparation for another weekend away
All my equipment seems to be taking over my whole house did have a christmas cupboard, thats now a camping cupboard(much more important than xmas tree&decorations)i would say my tennessee is to big to fit anywhere so it lives at bottom of bed.quite like it as i can smell it(sad)
carpets, groundsheets, poles, wardrobe all under my bed,i have even stole the kids storage toy boxes for my lamps and small stuff.
If my eldest son would move out all my problems would be solved as he has big room,oh canny wait!!will make it my camping showroom with everything all ready just to lift.
(plan to speak to his girlfriend)
No garage, and a very overcrowded shed. The Vango has to go under a table in the corner of the living room, behind an armchair. It's not obvious, as there is a doll's house on the table that tends to attract more attention. All other camping stuff is persuaded into the cupboard under the stairs, but the Vango is too awkward and heavy for me to put in there - too much bending and twisting required!
I put some shelves up in the entrance - don't bother about a curtain, because we will move house soon anyway, where I will have a utility room with space for the tents.
Every visitor knows my hobby at first glance!
Poles, chairs and stuff like that are in the garden shed. But all the other things are stored indoors, I once had a tent eaten by rats in my ex-hubby's cellar, they even ate the zipper!
------------- Proud owner of a 1987 Sprite Alpine 370 EK, a cheap popup tent and a beloved retro Trio frame tent from the early seventies, called Giraffen.
All our camping stuff is in the loft apart from the tent poles, the bag is too heavy to lift up the ladder, so they live under our bed. The only stuff that goes in the shed is the BBQ, gas bottle and windbreaks.

8 man tent , 4 man , 2 3 man tents , a 2 man , and a tarp all under my bed . rest of gear in and around my bedroom , along with my mountain bike and paintball gear
As I don’t have a garage or an abundance of storage space everything of mine goes in the loft, it’s very well insulated with floorboards, carpet and lighting and bone dry, bedding and camping clothes are mangeable up there as well, a rope & pulley system is used to hoist the rest of it up and down.
During the season (April-Oct) a lot of it stays ready in the roof box on the car, and it’s just a 20min job to get the rest down and loaded.
Because of the size of the loft it’s an ideal place to string up a line and dry a wet tent out if needed, a lot of people don’t take advantage of all that spare loft space, mind you, if you lived in a flat goodness knows how you would manage!!
Oohh that's an idea for drying out tents.... might have to investigate getting our loft properly boarded out for next year. Currently we keep our Mojave and the Icarus porch that we use with it on top of the wardrobe in our room, the Vermont along with it's poles and carpet is on top of the freezer in the utility room. I do get a bit concerned about that being in there as that room can get a bit warm when the dryer's on, but I tend to make sure I leave the door open now to stop it getting too warm/humid.... the rest of the stuff (cupboards/airbeds, etc....) is split between some cheap Ikea shelving in the shed outside, and our plastic drawers (idea from people on this site....) in the conservatory. It seems to work so far....
I've just spent today packing all my stuff away and put it down in the cellar. Hubby cleared the cellar completely at the weekend and now I've got a dedicated camping room down there. I've double-bin-bagged the furniture and air beds and they're now stored on flagged shelves, with another bin bag underneath. It might be overkill, but I've never stored anything of value down there before. I'll make sure to open the windows on nice days during the winter to keep the air circulating....hope I've done the right thing! Hubby wants to put the tent down there too but I'm not too sure about that - it was a huge investment for us and had only been used twice, and I really don't want to risk it. For bedding, we used our king sized feather quilts and pillows, so they're back on the bed in the guest room ready to be used. Just can't wait to unpack it all again next year!

we have one behind the settee in the front room, one in a wardrobe and one is currently up in the garden but will be stored under our bed...a pampered existence!!
SNAP!!! big one behind the sofa under the stairs because it won't fit under the bed with the smaller tent, others are in the attic simply because we don't have a garage and the shed is full of other rubbish
