I like camping in November, plenty of dark time to use all my candle lamps oil lamps etc. Sitting round a camp fire in the dark. The best bit though, is that you will have piece and quiet, with most sites on your own.
The biggest down side though, is that you will come home with a wet tent. If the rain don't get you, the morning dew will.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

I used to love tenting in the winter, quiet sites, cheaper charges, cosier nights (with EHU and my little fan heater) DO IT, just make sure to get that tent dried out!!!

Camping is - or, rather, can be - an all-year-round activity. In fact, I've just spent a week away under canvas hiking in the Lake District and I'll be off in my tent next week. I'm looking forward to at least one trip which I have planned for November.
So my advice to the OP would be the same as 9iron (above) - wrap up warm and go for it.

Any time is a good time to go camping providing it doesn't become a chore. Serious rain, frost, high winds etc; can make camping very uncomfortable but there can be some glorious days in winter when the sun shines and it is generally mild. It will always be damp at night though...except inside a cosy tent with a heater on of course.
Having said that, when I first bought my tent in the end of year sales I decided to test it out on a local campsite in mid November just for one night. It turned out to be an awful windy, sleety night but fortunately the campsite had a pub attached and after a few jars it could have been mid summer
