Sorry, not having experienced this Groupon thing I'm not sure how it works, but looking at the website it would seem that it only activates after 8pm tonight so how can they be sold out? Am I missing something here?

you buy the voucher from groupon and pay instantly then get emailed a code after the deal closes (ie 8pm tonight) so its really the voucher codes that sell out. then you can go to the site and use the code to buy the goods. sounds dodgy but its genuine. i have bought quite a few things through there.

That is a good deal, however, I am after the multi-colour colour change ones for my new tent.

DK I got some multicolour changing solar lights in the summer from B&M Bargains. They haven't got any in at the moment but they do have some battery fairylights. Always worth a look.
Poud stretcher do a set of 50 solar lights for app £7.50.
looked inside the battery compartment and there was space for 4 batteries but it was set up to work with only one AA battery (could be modified to take more batteries ) the solar charger looks big enough to do it

Can you turn them off - the cheaper ones, I mean, or do they keep going till the charge runs out (aren't I hopeful ? have only seen the sun for four hours in last two weeks! )?
I got some solar fairy lights from B&M I think it was. They were part of the Christmas range, but I tucked away with my camping gear. They do switch off but it needs a whole day to have a nights worth of lights out of them.
