I know Spring is meant to be a good time to sell, as people are looking around for tents for the summer, but I keep seeing posts on here from people who have just bought new tents, so should I be putting mine (not the bell) up for sale now or wait a couple of months?
alot of people have been out and about in camping shops buying tents up already, i know one company who has had to pull all orders forward because they had a showroom with no tents.
Apparently not been a start to the season like this in a long time so they were saying
I had a Vango Icarus that was on eBay Nov/Dec time, which got almost no interest at all (and I withdrew from sale with no bids). It's just sold on eBay in the last week with loads of interest, so I'd say about now would be a good time.
I think it will also depend on the type of tent you are selling. Dedicated tent hunters (like us) spend half their life looking for a new tent. I have a load of almost unused tents to sell but I will wait till end of Feb before advertising them. I recently sold some canvas/cotton tents, and thought I got quite good prices for them.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
Well, you're absolutely right. I followed your advice and put it up for sale this evening. It sold in about an hour!! It took me longer than that just to work out how to put the ad in!
