We are thinking of going to one of the Yeomans Outdoor Tent displays, we will have to travel quite a way and I just wanted to if anyone has been to one and are they worth a trip.
Their website says they have over 100 tents on display, do they?
We are looking for a new family tent, we currently own a Vango Colorado 600DLX and have also owned an Outwell Montana 6 and we want to see what else is out there.
The Ripley Castle (N. Yorks) one is very good. Can't speak to the others. However, we have been stung on accessory prices in the show tent, so keep your wits about you. A smartphone with internet access is a good pricing tool.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
Went to two last year .... one on the outskirts of Nottingham, and the other in Derbyshire. Both were at the end of the season and there were certainly plenty of tents on display ... all shapes, sizes and prices.
We ended off spending hours at them ... ummming and ahhhhing until we narrowed our shortlist down. Although time consuming it was worthwhle.
Good advise already given regarding having a smartphone/internet access for price comparison.
Did find the sales staff a bit pushy at one of the venues.
I went to the Yeomans tent display on the A64 in North yorkshire. They had loads on display. When we walked onto the field we were greated by a member of staff who gave us a cataloge and said if you need any help just give one of us a shout, and they left us to look around without breathing down our necks, which i liked (I Hate pushy salesmen who follow you round itching to part you with your money). We had a good 1 1/2 hours walking round narrowed the search down to 3 tents. We then made our mind up and are the owners of a fantastic Outwell Nevada xl tent. I have been adding to our camping gear throughout the winter months (I can't help myself) I can't wait to go camping again.
Hello. We have been to two Yeomans Tent displays. One in Ambleside and one outside York at the Four Alls Pub. Both were great. They had mostly Outwell and Vango tents on display. Great for anyone looking for a new tent and great for just a tent 'fix'!!

I've been several times to the one in Calver and once to one near Hailsham, East Sussex. They are well worth going to even if they don't have the tent you are thinking of as you can pick up some good ideas about what you do want from a tent. But as already advised, check on the prices of accessories. My experience is that they won't price match!
I bought my tent from the York display and they did price match. You do have to go with proof that you can get it cheaper else where. i got a print out of the tent i wanted with proof they had stock. The secret is don't ask if they price match (it is stated on there website) i said "As your web site states you price match i have proof here that i can purchase this item elsewhere at a cheaper price". The cashier said no problem can i keep your print out so i can show the reason for the price match.
The important thing is to make sure the item you can get cheaper is in stock and is the price including delivery. If the item is out of stock from the cheaper stockist they do not have to honour the price match.
Yeomans did a tent display at Blakemere Craft Centre near Northwich last year so you could combine it with trip to Casey's (you could have called in at Harrington's Caravans at Delamere on the way too, if Discover Leisure hadn't managed to put it out of business)
