After many years of caravan ownership, my wife and I decided to return to tent ownership so after much discussion and viewing of tents late last year we decided what we ideally wanted and today purchased a little used Vango Calisto 500 and matching canopy in blue along with a few essential accessories for the grand sum of £125.00, the previous owner did the usual thing of buying all new and then taking a dislike to camping after 2 attempts.
We chose the Calisto as it was one of a few steel framed tents on our wish list along with the Armetis amongst others so when we saw this advertised in our local Sainsburys priced at £160.00 we had to have a look.
The last tent we had was back in 1997 it was a Sunncamp but can't remember which model before we started vanning. Our main reason for returning to tenting is simply that I had got fed up of towing our Bailey it had just become too much of a chore and although I always enjoyed our time away I disliked the journeys there and back.
Understand what you mean by the towing KD, been there, done that. Not good when you arrive at a site stressed by the journey, knowing you have it all to do again at the end of your break. Enjoy your tent, and your times away. And welcome back to the "Light"side....

Welcome back. I have the vango calisto 600 and love it. It's a really sturdy tent and so easy to erect. Just remember to make sure the roof pole's are at the correct angle to the upright poles or you'll struggle like we did, if they are in the correct position its easy.
