Hi everyone, been lurking on here for a while now. Bit of a newbie, camped last year with other half at bike events last year in a 2 man tent and loved it so we've just bought a Kalahari ten for the family.
We put it up in the garden today and while my 18 year old daughter wasn't impressed (uncool) my 6 year old little boy cannot wait. Still need a stove, more bedding, chairs etc. Can't wait to get away.
You are all so right, it is so addictive, can't stop looking for stuff to buy and places to stay . Looking forward to all your help and advice,

you put a kalahari 10 up in the garden?
Where do you live? Buckingham palace?
Only joking, they are huge, How do you put a kalahari 10 up in a garden?
We started camping last year also, and have found the best way to build up your kit is do it gradually and make the most of the go outdoors sales, especially when they issue the 50% off high gear rrp vouchers.

Welcome to the most addictive forum about the most addictive pasttime! I've got a 20 and 18yr old as well as a 5 old - the older 2 aren't fussed about coming with us (although we all had a mostly fab holiday in the new forest last summer) but our 5 year old LOVES it!

Have fun buying the rest of your gear :-)

Lol just managed to fit Kalahari 10 in garden, didn't realise how big it actually was. We got it in January for £199 from Go Outdoors, bargain

We camped last year for the first time too and I just can't wait to get the tent in the car and head up north again. It is so addictive, I purchased some picnic items from B&N, Aldi, Lidl etc cheap I know but can be replaced over the next few years. Gives me an excuse to shop.

I'm on the look out to replace my old deck chairs with new modern camping ones. Also table covers for my 2 new camping tables.

My 18 DD hates the idea of sleeping outside and point blank refuses to come along. It saves us worrying about the cats while we are away. And she gets 'an empty'!! So in that respect she loves camping.

We have only been camping a couple of years too - but we love it so much now. We wonder why we didn't do it before. Its so relaxing. We used to holiday abroad all the time but them the recession hit the building trade and work dried up so we had to look at an alternative. Camping is that alternative and we love it!!

Hi we are in our 2ndyear too and with 2 small boys its the best way to have a relaxing trip. Can't believe a mate of mine who stays in hotels and BnBs said 'but aren't you all stuck in a tent all day???'. The boys are up and out with the larks and get so tired they put themselves to bed! Absolute bliss not being cooped up in a family room somwher worrying about entertaining them at at the crack of dawn.
