Glad yu're pleased with it Rik - sounds like it's the newer version of mine with the sticky out kitchen. Do the mudflaps go in or out? If out like mine then I'd suggest using eyelets to peg them down as it really makes a difference in the 'flappiness'

Do these often come up for sale? I must admit I haven't noticed them in the past. Now, there is one round the corner from me, an older model without the sticky out kitchen. Can view it tomorrow, but I'm concerned I'll always want the extra kitchen bit. Decisions, decisions. It's only £80 ... I expect a newer one would cost more..
what to do? lol.

I must say the sticky out kitchen bit gives a decent amount of extra space - but depending on how many of you and how you plan to use it will depend on whether the one near you is right for you.
You can always use a utility tent for cooking - I have a Cabanon one and an Outdoor Revolution Outhouse and it is good to get all the kitchen cr*p out of the main tent. The bedroom pod on the Elzas is a really good size (for 1 or 2 - not 4!!) so could store stuff in it to save space in the living area.
If it's in really good condition I'd go for it - the smaller Cabanons sell well on preloved, Ebay etc so if you decide it's not for you, you could always sell it on.
Let us know what you decide. I must say I really love mine!

Thanks for the replies Zeelees & fostermum. Well we have no shortage of tents including 2 utility ones but when did that ever get in the way ?? But, I do want a smaller canvas as the Athena is way beyond me erecting myself. So, yes it's for weekends just me and the dog when hubby is away playing with DoE stuff, or when he will join us later.
I'm told the only fault is a small hole in the bedroom groundsheet , nothing duct tape can't resolve. Shame there's no sun shade though. Still I will probably go see tomorrow and be prepared to walk away if I feel it's not right. Won't see it erected though, just in the bag.

Talked myself out of the older model. Not so much the kitchen issue, as I think I'd always have a utility tent with me, but I think I'll wait for one with a window or for a Champagne which ticks all my boxes as well.
( gives me time to reduce the number of tents we have already, if only we could agree on which one goes )
