Sorry they are a week late but better late than never, perhaps someone can point put where we are going wrong pitching the tent, we cant get the groundsheet to stay on the ground and the door is so tight it is difficult to close.
So here is a few off the tent, the dogs . the site and the tired hounds when we got home.

First impressions of the tent:- did you peg it out with the door open? looks like a lot of tension near the zip area. If you mean by "the groundsheet not staying on the ground" that it is riding up off the ground at the edges of the tent, then it could be that you need to "spread" the poles out a bit more. I notice the poles are fibreglass so they may not be set at the correct angles. I would also check the guy ropes to ensure that they follow the line of the seams, that way they will be providing the proper tension at the correct angle. This will avoid the rucking up of the material at some spots.
Hi. Nice pics! Lovely dogs. Looks like you had good weather. Can't help with tent problems I'm afraid but I am sure you will get more good advice. Happy camping and be safe!
I would just confirm what Jim has already said. Where a guy line is attached to a tent seam then the guy should follow the line of the seam. Where the guy is attached to a pole then it should follow the line of the pole. the strength of a tent is in its guy lines and many tents wrecked in high winds are in the main due to the tent not being guyed out correctly. Looking at your pictures the canopy guy and the side guy are crossed. The canopy line should go forward and the pole guy should follow the line of the pole.
Other than that have fun, its what camping is all about and like driving, the learning is in the doing.

we never new that about the guy ropes so that is probably where we are going wrong as it was the same shape this weekend?
Should we have the door open or closed when pitching?
The dogs had a ball they are all rescue dogs so it's just lovely seen them having fun and aloud to just be dogs.
I know we have only been away twice but camping has chanced our life completely it's great to find something both me and my other half enjoy and we have spend so much time together lately at home researching campsites, and what we can buy also getting away together is great.
My OH works offshore three weeks on three weeks off so this time it has been fantastic, off camping again this weekend then that's us until he is home again, thanks again for all your help and advise we probably would not have done it without all the fantastic advise.

Hi about the door being open or closed when my daughter and i pitch are tent we lay it out put the poles in then peg the back but as we lift poles into position we have the door slightly open just to let the air into the tent but before pegging the front down we close the door peg front down then positon poles peg the sides then tighten the tention straps starting with front and back ones then do opposite ones on each side of the tent that usualy pulls the ground sheet flat to the ground.........hope that makes sense
Oh well thanks a lot purplerain, 3 Boxers, I need to have a word with Pat now, just trying to work out who the white one reminds me of.
As for the tent, do you peg the ground sheet out to shape before you put up the poles if so you could be pulling it too tight, our Monty 6 won't sit flat if we pull it tight before putting the poles in. We peg out with doors shut to give the right size then open the doors to stand it up then rezip them while we line up the poles & guy it properly. Uneven ground can make this impossible though.
Oh cliff loving the dogs, love the cheecky grey chops.
Thanks I am sure we had it open when we pitch the tent will try and close it nearly full way this time. Thanks
