It was very cold Thursday night/Friday morning. My DS was off to Scout camp on the Friday morning so missed that nice little 'present'. 2 of the leaders camped out that night though and were still only just starting to thaw out when we all arrived about 10am.
We were in Nottinghamshire on Friday night and it was the coldest night I have ever camped. We had plenty of layers though, duvet and two sleeping bags and it was really toasty in bed!

I bet you didn't want to get out though. Who drew the short straw and had to put the kettle on
Yes we were camping last week! There was no frost on the ground on the Friday morning - being in the trees meant the ground was still quite dry - but there was a 1" thick layer of ice on the trailer cover!!
No visible ice, but it was a lovely crisp clear morning!
I took a couple of pics, then stoked up the woodburner and went back to my cosy bed
Brrr, that looks cold. I took the kids for a walk on Thursday and we passed a local camp site. There was a couple with a little girl setting up a very small tent. They looked like they only had the basics, no EHU, nowhere to sit in the tent and I did think they were very brave (or mad!).
Good on you though, we had to cancel Easter but I am hoping to get out there in the next few weeks and I know from experience that May can get very cold at night!
We had 1 degree on Thu night and had fleece blankets under and over our SIMs, sleeping bag and duvet each plus hot water bottles and extra blankets! Brrr it was our first trip this time of year. Packed up in rain on Sunday-only just put tent away as was spread out across dining room table drying out till tonight! Not put us off though...

I prepared the trip over the Easter weekend as a cold weather trip, and took waterproofs and thermals etc., and good job I did, as it was definitely cold, wet and windy!

We copped a frosty Friday AM in the New Forest, not too bad for us and the dogs, but BiL and young nieces really felt it not being very prepared for cold, despite our best efforts at loaning some gear and warning him to bring lots of warm layers.
