There was me in this glorious sunshine, practising putting up the Kairos 400 and I get an invasion of sheep!  Kids next door (sheep field between us) had left gate open and the brutes (sheep that is) always make a beeline for my garden if they get out.

I now have hoof prints and droppings on the tent fabric and, having rounded up the offenders and put tent up and hosed it off, there's still some greasy marks.  And of course, being here, camping gear ain't in shops yet. 

Any one had this problem and can offer advice, please? I'm also car-less at the moment so it's a full day's public transport trip to nearest shop.

Water and a soft sponge is all that is recommended unless it is a dedicated tent cleaner for poly tents. The waterproofing is on the inside of the flysheet, but I've never seen an officially recommended approach other than the above.

You could ring a friendly retailer and ask what product they would recommend for a polyester tent and then order online for quick delivery by post. If you order in the morning and convey that it is urgent, it could come next day from an obliging retailer.

Thanks.  I'll phone in the morning and get advice and hopefully a solution ordered. The muddy hoofprints and the droppings came off without leaving a mark with the water but the greasy marks seem to have come from their coats - one had to be woman-handled to persuade it to move on and it was on my hands and clothes too. 

Trying to look on the bright side - just thankful (as they're all heavily in lamb) she didn't give birth!! And grease may be unsightly but seems it's fairly waterproof.

Well at least you can use your hosepipe!
