My wife and I are currently having a couple of days away in Somerset , it's the first trip for us in our Vango and after two nights she has decided that she is not happy with the make up of our tent.
Prior to owning a van we had traditional canvas frame tents and would prefer canvas again so we are going down that route and I am currently bidding on a Sunncamp continental on eBay as apart from her "dislike" of polyester we are enjoying the experience.
I guess it's just one of those things but if it makes for a quiet life so be it, so if anyone is after a Vango Calisto 500 with canopy for a very reasonable price have a look at the classifieds.
There's always a lot of debate on this forum polyester vs canvas & poly cotton but it all boils down to what each person feels is best for them. We love our polyester tent for so many reasons but I love looking at other people's set ups too. Good luck with your bid & I hope you sell your other one & get a tent that will make your camping days even more fun.

In contrast, my OH won't touch canvas again - too heavy, really need to pitch to dry to keep the fabric stretched and too bulky. Just too fussy for us - we are happiest in quality poly tents.
Life would be so boring if we all liked the same though wouldn't it... and glad you are enjoying your trip!
Unfortunately, already have poly tents for all purposes, but I am sure that you'll find a buyer... you have a good tent to sell there.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
I have only camped in poly, but have just aquired two canvas tents. I think that, for me, polycotton would be the best of both worlds - breathable, easier to dry and smaller pack size.
The price of second hand canvas frame tents makes them a VERY attractive option right now...
Hope you win! Love our canvas tents, mind you we loved our polyester ones too,am sure hubby would go back to polyester but after camping in our canvas ones I wouldn't. Although never say never.Good luck selling your vango,it is a lovely tent.

Have to say I'm inclined to agree with your wife. We've had both over the years and I have both feet firmly in the canvas camp (excuse the pun). Been seeing a lot more canvas tents on sites over the last few years and I predict canvas/poly cotton will become the norm in 10 years or so
I'm with your wife on this issue too KD We changed from polyester to canvas & we would never go back. Sturdier & quieter in stormy weather, comfortably cooler in hot sunny climates, quick & easy to erect, more usable space, and so light & airy. Good luck with your bid
