Need a lantern for the inside of our tent Monty 6. Looking at ebay i came across some "Ultrafire" branded LED lanterns, they any use?. Or similar Osram halogen type lantern?

Ideas?

Hi - we use one of theose hanging work laamps with a hook on the end when we are on hook-up, otherwise it's The Coleman lamp outside and a couple of UFO's inside. The latter aren't that great on a big space like the Monty.

These have been recommended a number of times on here. If you're into lumens etc, they are about the same as the Ultrafire   ones on the Auction site you mention.

I'll be watching replies with interest as they do look a neat solution.

The lantern in hlk01's link, is definatley worth buying at £18, from memory it uses 3 super bright Cree LED'S, and at 4watt or 300 Lumen, is about as bright as LED lanterns get, with exception to the Outwell 400 Lumen version, although 25% brighter in theory, the price is over 100% more at £50.

So you would be better of buying 2 of the Varta's instead of the 1 Outwell,  as the end result would be 50% brighter and 20% cheaper.
