I can only ever remember giving one tent a nickname..My raclet Hex TT was called Hexy!! or more commonly known(well for one season only)as Big Chief Bumface's Wigwam!!!!!!...I remember driving everyone in the family daft one year By giving them all Red Indian names and speaking in a typical(old western)Indian voice..."Big brave Spottyface(oldest boy) Go fetch um water"...Little brave Runnynose(youngest boy)"Stopum picking um nose"(toddler at the time)As I remember that particular custom died a natural death when the wife took exception to being called Squaw...And being orderedd(in a chiefly manner)to "Makeum din dins for chiefy and um braves" and "Keepum wigwam clean for chiefy"Gave all that nonsense up when she whacked me with a spare(plastic) tomahawk I had lying about...Some wimmin have no sense of humour.....

Jelboy.

We call ours Elsie after my mother. We bought it and all our camping equipment with the money she left us when she passed away. She suffered from dementia  for a few years, but loved going out, so now she goes with us every time we go camping.

That is a lovely thought!

My mother thought camping was wonderful for us..not for her,the thought of lying on a mat under a sheet in the rain was unthinkable..so am sure if I had named my tent after her we would never get it pitched

Oh no, you're making me want to go and buy a 'Freda' in honour of my Mum (who died in Feb): she loved the freedom of camping.

I already have Esther the Estoril, Dartford the Tunnel, and the B&B Tent. Do you think OH would notice another bundle under the bed?

Well my Corado 6 is now just called the 'big tent' by I call my Cabanon Emma because we don't know the model of it, but the pole bag has Modele - Emma, so I'm assuming its a Cabanon Emma.

However, she is only called Emma on the forum to DH its the 'new tent' or the 'frame tent'.
