After someone posted about 'Alchemist' from ebay, on here I had a look at their sales.

Somehow, I don't know how (honest, Guv) I seem to have bought a second tent!

This is a smaller, 5 birth tent which I'm thinking would be our 'weekend' tent, smaller to pack, faster to erect. It has a 'hole' in the external fabric, but, I reckon I can patch that easy enough. It was £25.49, but this includes the postage!

I haven't told hubby, I'm hoping it arrives whilst he is at work so I can hide it until the 'right time' to tell him comes up.

If you don't hear from me in a few days, he found out and I may be in trouble...

Actually, I have several tents for different occassions! My 2nd half always says if you buy right you only buy once, but for me I've decided that a small tent, well designed for mountain trekking isn't the same size tent I want to use for a week camping at a caravan and camping site where I prefer a larger size, with a few extra luxuries.

I also have a tent I personally chose for me and me alone, when I just want a night under the stars away from everyone (which is fantastic!). So I do sympathise with the extra tent issue, but whether your hubby understands is another matter........

I often browse to see what bargains are out there and there are a few tents that have attracted my attention, but with 5 tents already (with 2 the same - 1 as a spare and eventual replacement) covering all our activities and no budget or justification (that would past muster with the OH), there will be no number 6.

Must admit, none of the tents out there at the moment beat those we have already. It would take Kampa to do an Ultimate quality version of the Vango Kairos 400 (or Vango to do a premium quality version without the corruption of the design done by Lichfield) or Coleman to do a version of their Rock Springs 4 with window covers, better ring and pin attachments and flymesh on the rear inner tent door for us to buy another tent.

I did get the Kairos as a SURPRISE Valentine's present for my husband, so we could go touring with the soft-top Land Rover with standup height comfort in a stable and quick to pitch tent. It even matches the colours of his Landy...

Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!

I believe this was a terrific bargain, depending on how big the hole is of course Even if we just use it for garden camping its works out a very reasonable purchase...

(can anyone tell I'm working on my 'sell' to Hubby?)

It's a pity tents were not like dresses etc and we could pull the old " I have had that for ages " statement.

Actually, I might be able to make that work!

Will get to work on that...
