Maybe she means whilst traveling?

One thing to remember about coolers is that they generally (always?) work on the basis of lowering the ambient temperature by (say) 18 degrees.
If you had (say) a 40 degree day, that means the cooler would only 'cool' stuff down to 22 degrees ... i.e. not a cold beer!
Is why we have a table top ... it keeps cooling till the thermostatically set temp is reached ... and when in (say) south of France or Spain, that is crucial!

We use an electric cool box and it works great for the purpose we need to for. It's generally not above 20C here in Scotland and that's where we generally go camping so chills to cold. Plugs into the car as well though the ciggy lighter.

I would also recommend an ICEY TEK coolbox. Although they are a bit bulkier than a standard coolbox they are very effective. Try to get the coolbox down to temperature for a few days before you go away and keep topping it up with fresh ice packs. On a week long holiday last summer the campsite freezer couldnt freeze icepaks quickly enough so we bought a bag of ice from supermarket and that worked great. There is a drain hole so that you can dispose of any water. Also double up as seat, table etc ans good fo covering in stickers!

A few years ageo we got a Waeco Tropicool 21 litre coolbox (now seems very expensive) which can cool to 30 degrees below ambient apparently. The first year we did not have EHU so just used it plugged into the car when out and about and for some of the time on site supplemented with freezer blocks. That worked fine. For our two week stay we now have EHU.

Its great that you can alter the temperature setting and that it is not constantly on all the time using either full power, half power or off depending on the temperature its at.

Good for us, portable with a carry handle so not too big for travel and packing but big enough to keep us going and you can easily stand a few bottles of wine and some cans of beer up in it.

Cheers
