Bad news - badminton horse trials have been cancelled so camping next week at the trials is off. Whole course is soaked and some of it is under water! It wont be run later on in the year so roll on 2013 so i can go again!

Good news - we rang barn farm camp site and they have some space for us so we're booked to go for 5 days on thursday. It is some consellation to go camping at least but i'm really gutted i'm not going to badders. Still, safety comes first and from the photos, its wasnt anywhere near safe!

What a shame. You've got to feel sorry for the event organisers, storeholders, campsites, hotels and B&Bs in the area - it's such a money earner. To say nothing of the competitors and horses who've prepared so hard for this. First time since 1987 it's been cancelled - does anyone remember what the rest of the summer was like in '87 - please say it was a scorcher.
