Oh poor Holi! We were so looking forward to meeting her! We are taking the tin tent and heading over for about lunchtime today. Hope you can make it and look forward to catching up with you if you do go. We will have the UKCS flag up
The amount of times we stay at Keswick Club Site warrants the membership alone (where we are at the minute too!) C&CC is far from perfect though, the re-worked website is as much use as Anne Franks drum kit, they have totally ruined it. Annoyingly though, nothing seems to be being done about all the issues on the website, its full of bugs, and infuriating to use. You are better just phoning. The Caravan Club website is far far better!
I don't think anyone has mentioned the RAC Arrival scheme which is cheaper than normal RAC membership and has fewer limitations on sizes of vehicles and trailers and age of vehicles going abroad.
Also Carefree - the overseas touring "arm" of the Club which can get great ferry deals and even organise the whole of your trip if you want.
Or Club Care, insurance for everything from Houses to bikes. I've always used them for my caravan and motorhome insurances, they're very competitive.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
We have just cancelled membership after 4 years in which time we only used a C&CC site twice. Most sites too pricey and tenters usually pushed to the least favourable pitches i.e. furthest from the loos etc. Magazine is also aimed at caravaners with little for the tent camper.

I suspect that this will be my last year (10th) as a member. I do benefit as a singleton and over 55 but can't get away enough. Also agree with Margie's comment above with regard to pitches for tenters (and the C&CC seems hellbent on introducing more and more hard-standing pitches, reducing the number of basic grass pitches available). Plus I feel the same about the magazine as Margie does.
