How do most of you get your tent carpets to look so crease free? Whenever we put ours out it never goes completely flat and the creases just stay. Everyone else's (looking at pics on here) looks so neat and flat. I've tried rolling it and packing it away as well as folding it back into the storage bag exactly the same as it was was when we bought it
Strange question i know, but it just baffles me! lol

maybe it's the type of backing your tent carpet has...?...i'm guessing if the backing creases easily then the effect of those creases will be transfered thru to the soft top layer...?
we use Gelert tent carpets and they have a slightly spongy feel to the waterproof backing which seems to "absorb" any creases...
as for how we store them when not in use, we simply fold them up and put them back in the storage bags we bought them in...no special treatment or storage conditions and our carpets remain crease free...

We have carpets for both our Vango Maritsa and Calisto, and we dont have any issues with creases on either carpet. As for storing them we do the same as moonstone.
Maybe try hanging it on a washing line on a nice day, when its warm and the creases might just fall out.

Is it a Vango carpet? The Outwell carpet for the Monty is much heavier and does lie flat but the Vango carpet is, in my opinion, an inferior item and I'm glad it came free with the tent because I'd be cross with myself if I'd bought it. We store both ours folded and transport them folded to fit the boot of the car as they take up less space that way.
We have a vango carpet and have just bought a carpet for our newly aquired indian lake. The difference in quality is amazing. The vango one is noticably poorer than the outwell and does tend to show the fold marks. The outwell one lies flat.
We've two Vango carpets for our Orchy, one a 2008 and one a 2009. The 2009 doesn't crease but the 2008 creases, rucks up and moves despite it being a much heavier carpet and thicker than the 2009 and the BL carpets we got recently.
I'm hoping the bigger/thinner Outwells will lay flatter especially with all the perimeter furniture we're getting (but don't tell SWMBO).

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
Our vango carpet is creased, seriously considering getting another one. Agree its inferior quality. Had the carpet for our hi-gear zenobia and it was great.
Good to know guys as i was about to buy the vango calisto 600 tent carpet. Will look to source a different make that will fit, so definately not a strange or silly question.
I'm glad someone asked this. We have the Icarus 500 and was going to get the vango carpet this month. I also thought the quality was quite poor by vango standards. I can see me trawling through the site for similar size tents to get a match for ours.
------------- September 27th. I'm going away. Don't care where. Just going!!!!
We have the Vango carpets for our Samara and also our Icarus and never had a problem with them. Can't comment on the quality between Vango and Outwell as we have never had an Outwell tent.
