I have got no idea what we are going to use ours for apart from a heater as we have only just got ehu after many years of camping without,we both have back problems which flare up when it's cold so that was our reasoning,we will try it out for the first time on Tuesday(when the weather is meant to heat up). I love the idea of an electric coolbox though,and have been "advised" on a toastie maker.

Looks like it's going to be "all change" by the sounds of things,it seams to attract more "gadgets",hmm but at least then we would have everything we need for both styles of camping.

As we are in our 3rd year of camping, we have had EHU from day one. We use it for the kettle, small camping fridge, little radio, charging mobile, hair dryer, heater if it gets cold, light at night and will be used for our lastest purchase a halogen oven for camping.

I hate to say this but could not camp with out EHU.

predominantly, our EHU is used for heating and lighting, the fridge and phone/laptop chargers.

We can do it without, and we do - only weekends though as I worry about food going off without the fridge, even if we take ice packs.

Got ehu for mothers day and also a mini heater.....it's still in the box lol....but whistling kettle is part of our camping kit that I couldn't be without. My kettle at home went bang last week and the 'camping kettle' came out and saved the day......the kids love to hear it whistling away in the mornings

Got to agree with that - a few years ago we arrive for our summer camp in Cornwall and couldn't get a ehu pitch (we never book just chance it) - Disaster- 2 weeks later the best holiday we had had for years, back to the old days. Not bothered with it since for summer trips.

Got to admit still use it spring/autum when it's cold for the heater.

As per my other post, Mrs CJ needs a heater (health issue) so an EHU is a must. But we also use it for the TV (evenings only use radio for the days), kettle and toaster. If the mobiles need charging then they go on it but mostly we charge them in the car or from a sloar charger when out. We run a light off it too, can't get on with battery powered lights if we have an EHU.

When I'm away alone then there's no EHU at all and I enjoy it just as much but for different reasons.

LOL Warm enough in the summer, I take it you dont camp in the UK  last year we went in Late august and it was about 12-16c at night brrrrr
