hi all, having just purchased a new tent and getting fed up with the old one lying around I said to the other half I will bin it, it is a suncamp viario 500
She was horrified saying I should sell it. I worked out how long we've had it and the amount of holidays we had out of it, it worked out to around £20 per holiday
Myself I think I will bin it because the last time I used it there was a lot more than condensation on the inside
If you want to get rid of it, and are not bothered about actually getting anything for it then why not freecycle it? Lots of people can't afford the initial outlay for camping.
However, personally, I'd put it onto ebay, no reserve, no starting price etc. If you get a £5 for it, you can use that towards a night in your new tent.
Definately wouldn't bin it - offer it on here, freecycle it, eBay it, Preloved and Gumtree it. Somebody, somewhere will be grateful for it and if you get some money for it, then see it as a small bonus as that's more than you would have got if you'd binned it!

Even if the fabric's gone, spare pegs, pole sections and even zip pullers can all be useful, and could the groundsheet be used for a footprint?
Absolutely agree, someone somewhere will want something from it,put it on ebay as spares or repairs, maybe it just needs re-proofing,don't bin it!!!

and lots more besides
I chucked one out that I found in our loft when we moved house....this was before I was much into camping. I really regret it now as although it was old and the rubber bits were all perished there were surely bits that I or someone could have used. Don't throw it out!
