Our new Khyam utility tent arrived yesterday to replace our beloved Outdoor revolution outhouse which got wrecked at easter. We had a brief dry spell this afternoon and managed to quickly get it pitched in the garden to check it over.

I'm very impressed, for starters the colour isn't nearly as 'blue' as it appeared on the web, much more muted and I quite like it.
The front door has a full window with a roll up curtain, no poles supplied to canopy it out but we have spares of those already. The two side panels roll up to reveal mesh sides which will be great for ventilation and being either side means we can open the opposite to where the rain or wind is coming from.
There are pegging points around the bottom which was something the Outhouse didn't have, and a seperate groundsheet, although I doubt we'll use that.

I can't wait to try it out properly in Scotland in 2 weeks

Please excuse slightly skewed pitching, we pegged down quickly as it was a bit breezy and didn't get it quite straight.

Looks lovely. I made a mistake buying a Royal Dayroom last year and its lovely but just too big at 3m square. I am going to put it on ebay I think and get a utility tent instead. Is yours easy to put up? Could one person do it on their own?

It is dead easy to put up, we had it done in 5 minutes although it is the same set up as our old one so we knew what to do, but it is straightforward. I'm not sure about one person, we've never tried, I expect it could be done on a calm day, but really someone should support the poles whilst pinning them.

Anyone ever heard of this one? I like the lightweight ones but in the winds we had last year I don't know how stable they would be, ie could the tent bend towards the flame in high wids? This one looks more like a frame tent structure.

Looks good issym. Reminds me of one of the Obelink ones, or even our Outwell Alabama that we use on longer trips. The good thing about the frame type ones is the stability and the fact you can hang stuff from the poles on the inside. Downside is the size and weight for packing.
Lol, I guess that's why we leave decisions on which one to take until we can see how much space is left. The OR is such a small pack size it comes with us more often than not.

The Kyham does look good too.

The pack size of the Khyam is about double the OR so we'll have to squeeze it in somehow.
We never had any stability problems with the OR until easter when it got wrecked, but the weather was pretty severe and the ground really soft from all the rain so pegs pulled out which led to it's demise.

The Brunner looks good I like the idea of being able to hang things from the frame, footprint of 200x150 would have been too small for us though.

Edited it & sorted now hopefully.
