I went to Go Outdoors yesterday with Wifey to look for a weekend tent as I feel the TT is a bit much for a trip of less than 4 nights. It was not very hot yesterday, but the sun was out every now & then through the clouds. We did have in mind the High Gear, Corado 8, but when stepped inside it was so hot we could not breath. By the time we walked around to the Vango Maritsa 700 the sun had gone in & stayed in, so this tent was no where near as hot inside. But would it have been had the sun still been out ?

I know you can open doors/windows etc but do all poly tents get that hot inside or just the cheaper ones ? & what are they like inside at 7am when the sun has been on them a couple of hours ? We all feel the heat so are a little concerned...lol

We would really like a quicker erecting/quicker drying tent for shorter trips

We both REALLY liked the Vango so hoping for some good news from any owners, thanks in advance

Mr Wobbly (!), we had an Outwell Winfield Plus for a long time (polyester) and a few weeks ago upgraded to a Kampa Filey Classic (polycotton). We didn't we would be able to tell the difference in the British heat but indeed you can. I really think they are worth the investment but if you can get a polycotton tent on ebay (as I did) then all the better. We were warmer than we would have been in our old tent on the cold days and when the sun did eventually show his face we didn't sweat or have any condensation in our tent.

Re Keanonwuk - I think you will be able to tell the difference with your ceiling layer. We certainly could. The sunlight is enough through the windows and simply blocks out the sun/cold through the roof providing another layer of insulation.
