I love that stove!

How could you forget that??????????????? and your doggy's super posh doggy bed!!!
His large Breezy Bunk bed was worth every penny and cheap compared with the Coleman stove, as he loves it, and no longer jumps onto mine, result!

I just went and looked at the Breezy Bunk, didn't know what it was. I'd love one for Boo but she can't handle that kind of change. Will have to stick with her mobile-bedroom, as it's familiar. I remember the last time we bought her a new bed
Zeelees try not to resist. These camping-equipment urges don't go away you know. They just return, stronger than ever, leaving you with no choice ... but ... to ... buy buy buy
Thankfully the large is out of stock..phew,I think I will resist this time, our thoroughly spoilt tearaway likes his warmth..fleece bed, fleece blanket, tatty old blankie (he never goes anywhere without his beloved blankie!) and his pillow(don't ask),nope,I really don't need anything else......I think I must be ailing for something!!!!

Camping is cheap Caz in comparison with my other preferred choice of holiday: luxury cruising which I enjoy almost (but not quite as much) as camping and actually a super time can be had camping on a shoestring without spending stupid amounts of money on kit.
The only camping kit I've bought this year is a second hand frame tent and a couple of new apexes for my Force Ten but such minimal amounts aren't going to impress anyone so I won't bother stating the amount they cost me!
The point I'm trying to make here is the amount you spend on kit is completely separate from the amount of pleasure you'll get out of camping and it's a shame if folk who can't afford loads of stuff get the impression after reading threads like this that camping is beyond their means or that they're somehow missing out or even inferior because they don't have whatever's this year's "camping essential."
One of the best camping trips I've ever had was with my two (then small, they had to be) daughters when we squeezed into a litle two man ridge tent for a week. We had virtually no kit and no money but what a great time we had!
Completely agree Rik,we went with our then tiny kids in a little two man tent, and had a ball.
I would hate to think of anyone feeling inferior due to lack of kit or funds,it has taken years and I mean donkeys years since the age of seventeen till now some 30 years on to amass our kit and for most people this is the case..not many people these days can afford to go out and spend thousands in one hit(and they shouldn't feel they have to either)..but the amount spent over time soon mounts up,camping is literally for everyone, whether its a £20 or £2000 tent and the kit to go with it,as long as you enjoy what you do,that's what camping is about.

Lord, I really don't want to think about what I've spent in total. I know my tents have only cost me around £300 but I hate to think what I've spent on other stuff.
This year alone, I've spent
Utility Tent - £35 Ebay
2 new camp chairs to replace cheapies - £37
2 new foilbacked picnic rugs -£14
camp bed - £20
Electric coolbox - £35
Interlocking mats - £13
So not too bad, but then again, I've only managed to get away once this year so far!! As for what I've spent in previous years, I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you!
I would hate to add it all up. We have had numerous tents and the one we have now plus extension is nearly £1000. Plus all the chairs we have gone through, tables, EHU, kettle, toaster cupboards we have got oh lordy I dread to think.
I will say though, we have spent more than some on here and lots less than some on here lol.
I still cant decide whether to sell our Bear 4 and buy a second hand trailer tent. One must have we still have to get though is a toilet!! Goodness knows where we will put it though.
