We had 2 nights, Tues/Wed away.  It rained most of the time, but no leaks, so that was a good test.

However packing up Thursday it was lashing down.  Thankfully it wasn't windy.

I suggested we put the tent over the whirlygig, & although it carried on raining on & off, I was confident the inside had atleast dryed out.

Water pooled on the top of the tent, so had to keep tipping it off, and as the rain wasn't letting up, decided it was best to take it upstairs & drape it over the banister in the attic.

Well this was when it became obvious that the rain had infact got into the inside of the tent, err severall bucket loads it looked like!

We got it over the banister, and this morning there are still pools of water inside the tent.  I have tried to turn it inside out as best I can, but think I will need to crawl inside it with a towel & mop it out best I can.

As we don't have a garden, hubby wants to take it out onto the road & put the poles in, then get it into the garage & open it out, to dry properly.

It's amazingly stressfull dealing with a soaking tent!  Our first time, but I guess it won't be the last!

We throw a couple of blankets over the rafters in the loft then spread the tent out over them, out the way and you can leave the tent there till ready to use again.

We too had a mare packing up Thursday in lashing rain. Inside was soaked from amount of water and being in bag, and have had to dry bed pods too.

Nearly all dried out thankfully, been hanging upside down in garage with fan blowing through it.

we got back on Thursday afternoon; inners are in our spare bedroom draped over sofa bed and computer chairs, tent has been draped on bannisters and down the stairs - now that is all dry, porch is on stairs/bannister and carpet (we had some leaks) is now in spare room.  Hopefully all will be put away tomorrow!

Its a pain, but I would rather be safe and not put tent away damp.  We had the fan heater on a lot in the evenings and with the cold, wet weather it caused condensation on the inside so even though the outer was ok, we had to dry the inside.
