Hello,

We're off to France in the summer and with the car rammed full I don't want to lug a big gas bottle about. I also don't really want to have to source a Campingaz bottle. So, having seen the Coleman Perfectflow I was wondering if someone could answer these two questions:

1) Do you have to use Coleman branded propane cylinders or are other (cheaper) options available?
2) Can you buy replacement cylinders in France or will I have to take enough to last for two weeks?

Many thanks

Chris

They last quite a long time, 4 cylinders should last 2 weeks and I don't think there are any alternatives. P

Thanks Yorkie.

To cut costs I think that I'm going to source a smallish campingaz bottle (a 904)and get a very slimline stove. to help save some space.

Thanks for taking time to reply!

We take a 4.5Kg Butane bottle to France, lasts us 3 weeks easy. If you buy a French regulator you could buy gas once out there - every petrol station sells them.

These work in the Coleman Fold n' Go I have: Plumber's Gas Bottles

Don;t get the high temperature sort - it is not advised. Just normal propane. About £6 a bottle from Plumber suppliers. Much cheaper and more readily available than Coleman bottles. I don't know, but assume that they are available/used on the continent?
