Hi,  any ideas of what to do if weather bad when u have 2 dogs whilst camping? We have always seemed to land lucky and only had showers when camping before but the forecast is'nt looking great for next week! We haven't booked anywhere yet just going to follow the best forecast so hopefully it wont rain eveyday!

It's not like u can look round most castles and statley homes,go cinema or baths  suppose there's always the  dog friendly pub!ny more ideas please?

Any more ideas please?

Lots of fantastic walking in the Lakes/Yorkshire Dales/Peak District. It's very restricting having dogs I know! Beaches are a bit funny this time of year as well, dog freindly from Oct to April so you'd need to check that if you go coastal. Dogs are allowed on the boats cruising around the Lakes, in fact Cumbria is the most dog friendly county I'd say.

Don't forget lots of old towels and dog deoderiser spray from Wilkinsons!!

Know what you mean it can be a bit restricting. We always tend to go walking and do outdoor stuff when we camp so we all just tend to go out in the rain regardless. Which can be a very wet experience with two big hairy dogs! British bronco is right about the lakes, we've always found it extremely dog friendly, when we've been in Keswick I think the only shops that didn't let us all in were the food shops - which is fair enough. There are plenty of dog friendly pubs there and the boats around the lake accept dogs too. I expect much of the rest of the lakes will be similar. Worst case scenario, I have heard a few times of locals round about some campsites that offer dog sitting services. Never tried them myself but it could be worth asking a few sites if they know of anything, if you don't mind a fee of course!

I am lucky in that my Border Terrier is a bit of whimp and does not like the rain.

He is quite happy to stay in bed all day except to go out from time to time to stretch his legs.

I would play with him with one of his toys inside the tent, like tug of wall with a twisty rope,

DK

Thanks guys, we have been camping with the dogs many times but just wondered if ther was anything else to do in wet weather, nothing better than the smell of wet dog in the tent! lol.

We usually have a good supply of towels and toys and have even bought the sofa for then  to rest on after all the walks! Molly is quiet good in the fact that she doest like the rain and will hold a wee all day if we would let her!

Lokks like we may be heading towards whitby way again, been afew times still plenty to see and do in the area.. can't wait! Roll on monday!
