Yes we have one in addition to the gas. We have used it for warming things up and works fine. No problem with tripping. We have a single Kampa ring. The outer casing does get very hot, too hot to touch, so have to be careful after use as it stays hot for ages. Would not use it to boil a kettle as it could take ages but we have a travel kettle.

So good as a backup or bean warmer but not as main cooker.

I have a twin one, smaller one 1kw larger hob 1.5kw so 2.5kw total. I normally book on sites with 16a so no problems using both at the same time but would be pushing it if using 10a.

I do use mine as the main hob and don't have an issue with how slow it takes to heat up, as once up to temperature it works as good as any other hob to simmer.
