I've forgotten the saucepans -had all the other things that its quite easy to forget or run out of like the actual stove, enough gas !, matches/lighter,tins of food, plates ,knives and forks but no saucepans .
Quite frustrating to be looking at that little collection of things on the tent floor but have nothing to heat it up in !
Luckily it was a Forest site about 25 miles from home so we did a detour past home and picked them up next day!
Don't turn up to the campsite you had carefully chosen( because it had private facilites and it was a planned gentle introduction to camping abroad) a week earlier than you had booked to find that they were fully booked....
We weve then given the overspill(very remote slopped pitch,we still had a good time although tempers were frought after a two day journey) fantstic views
Do NOT under any circumstances...Come back from the pub in the dark...Wonder why you left the tent door open when you left...Shrug...and try to enter tent...Only to find you left the mozzie screen in place!!! After yo yoing back and forth for a few attempts at getting in...You will find yourself on your backside 10 feet from the tent...As the mozzie net acts like a vertical trampoline and propels you across a deserted campsite.....Heed this warning from one who knows......

Good job I do not have a mozzie net on my tent, and I seldom drink that much when I am on my own.

Scorching a brand new carpet with the stove grill. Don't ask how...
Was in the doghouse the rest of the trip.
But you know we are going to..............ask that is

Nope Jim..I was all on my own on a site down by Abington!!
The time you refer to was my second try where I had not yet learned the valuable lesson I passed on in my post above..
I did hesitate to pass it on for fear of appearing foolish...But there are some on here who are not as nimble and quick witted as myself...Who in the circumstances could be bouncing back and forth ALL night on a campsite near you...So thought...In the interest of HxS to pass it on..........

Just read this out to my girls.....they are now sitting sniggering to themselves
On a similar theme, OH once scrabbled at the mozzie net on the bedroom pod for ages trying to get out for an early morning wee ... he had no glasses on and could not see that he had unzipped the door but not the mozzie net ... and I was too helpless with giggles to be able to be much help!!
The children and I still fall about thinking about it now
