Hi all,

I've browsed this forum for a while so thought I'd post some photos from last week when I was camping at the Marlbank Inn, close to the Malvern Hills.

I set off from Leicester after work on Sunday and had arranged to meet a friend of mine, Martin, at the campsite that evening.

Things got off to a bad start when I decided to try and get my tent up before he arrived and snapped a pole. If anyone knows where I can pick up a replacement pole it'd be appreciated... I'm a student and didn't pay a lot for the tent so don't want to spend a fortune on a new pole!

Anyway, Martin soon arrived with gaffer tape and soon both tents were up. Martin was keen to show off his new tent - a Coleman Mackenzie Cabin 4. It's very similar to my Lakeside 4 but everything about it was better. I'm only slightly envious.

The weather on our first day was good so we decided to head for the hills for a day of walking. There were plenty of paths from the campsite so we walked a nice, circular route setting off at around 9am and not returning much before 5pm. I'm not sure how far we walked but some of it was pretty hard going. The views were magnificent though.

Being petrolheads we decided one day to head to the Heritage Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire. A great day out.

As if one day doing car things wasn't enough, we arranged on another day to meet up with friends for a tour of the Morgan factory in Malvern. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone in the area - I really want a Morgan now but I'm not sure how suitable they'd be for camping.

On our last day (Thursday) we'd planned another walk but the weather had turned. We looked at the map and decided we weren't that far from South Wales so would head there for a drive. This wasn't as easy as planned... the main road from Ledbury to Hereford was blocked because of a flood. Martin soon found an alternative route along narrow country lanes, not a fun experience when these were also flooded and we kept on meeting diverted traffic. I was starting to regret leaving Martin's Land Rover at the campsite and taking my Focus out in the floods!

We made it to Wales where it wasn't as wet but was very foggy up in the mountains.

Thanks for reading and well done if you made it this far

If anyone's interested, I've uploaded more photos to Facebook

poles can be gotten cheap enough off ebay, just search for the width and length of the pole....

Great pics, thanks for showing them to us

Tent Spares are also good for replacement poles. Though they don't list Coleman you should be able to find ones with the same diameter and then cut to the length required.

A very nice set of photos. Thank you for posting them.

I second the recommendation for Tent Spares. I've had good service from them and their showroom is not too far from Leicester.
