Some wonderful ideas here.
My pal Hedgehugger gave me an outer to recycle a couple of years ago, and I'm still in the process of making a front door for my Coleman Chef Annexe to turn it into a super-nice utility tent. Life and the weather have so far stalled me halfway, but I will get it finished some day!
It's inspiring to see old tents finding new lives as bits of other tents and equipment. I hate to see them simply thrown away.
Perhaps tents should carry a donor card?
