Well only 2 more days to go before our first ever camping trip. All the kids are excited, all adults are nervous as hell!!!
If any of you kind camping folk happen to be pitching up at Goldensands, Mablethorpe, on Friday & see a couple of families struggling in the rain to try to put up a tent or two, feel free to help. There may be a drink or two in the offering.

You will be fine, relax it's a holiday! Just take your time, make sure you have a flask or the kettle and stove handy, have a cuppa then get started, give the kids jobs to do...one help with pegs, another go fill the water etc enjoy!
------------- March- Padstow
April- Forest Glade
June-Grizedale
July-Jedburgh
and lots more besides
Enjoy your holiday and I just hope the weather improves a bit for you. At least there is plenty to do at Goldensands and around Mablethorpe. The kids will love it
Dont look at it as a huge challenge, its all part of camping. we have been camping years and putting the tent up is always a bit daunting but once you start you will wonder what al the fuss was about. Enjoy !!!!
Rain or not, we're going to make the best of it & enjoy it (otherwise this'll be our first & last camping trip!).
The plan is, if it's raining the wives will take the kids swimming, while us blokes pitch up the tents. We'll then swap, the wives & kids will then sort the insides out while us blokes go swimming (via the bar).

... we had our first ever family camping trip last weekend, and we loved it even though the weather was very 'challenging' at time! (high winds and lashing rain)
... enjoy the experience, wish we were camping again this weekend as we all loved it so much!
------------- The Kale Family Campers
Test 1st camp - June, Witterings
August - 1 week in 'sunny' Croyde at Ruda
August - bank holiday weekend, Boarhunt, Hampshire
We are actually looking forward to it especially as we've had a quick look at some of the places we could go this year.
We had a lodge holiday in the Forest of Dean last year. No funfair, no amusments but the kids loved it (damn near went feral in the wild) so camping out in the wide open space is a family holiday we will all enjoy (so long as the tent stays up & dry....)
