Thats what forums are all about opinions and advice maybe you should think about that after all you've just posted yours.
I use head phones for radio and TV with a splitter cable so wife can hear as well
The trouble is TV's are an emotive issue. You either see the benefit or don't. As long as people abide camp rules are and not being too intrusive so that the noise becomes antisocial I do not see the issue.
I am of the opinion that if you want that sort of break where there is no noise, find a campsite specific for your needs. Do not attempt to moderate someone's elses actions that are not particularly out of what I would consider "normal" behaviour.
The main problem is that people are so intolerant of anything other than basic camping that you end up in a argument like "just because you have had no complaints you are still noisy". Judgements like this cannot be made unless you have camped by me or my family! Another one I hate is "do you not enjoy the countryside?", again unless you haev camped with me you cannot comment. Yes we do, but TV is not an instead of its as well as addition to our camping enviroment.
I am happy with the way I camp, I am happy that what we do does not spoil someone elses holiday. I am happy that we are considerate and tolerant of those without TV's that sit outside laughing and joking and being quite loud.
If people do want people to respect there opinions then it should be written in such a way that you are not incinuating they are doing something wrong or that in fact they must annoy people! Tolerance and respect of opinion works both ways.
------------- Camped since 2008 and still loving it!

I am sorry but you just dont know that just as much as we dont know how loud your TV might me. Whats ok for some is not ok for others. Yes we have no baseline to judge, but equally neither do you to judge your disturbance of others. Best off to have no TV sound after a certain time. Problem is when TV's are on in tents they are zipped up with people inside and its generally late. People are not going to knock on a tent and ask to keep the noise down. Its much easier with a group of revellers sitting outside their firepit to ask them to hush a bit. I have decided to leave a campsite and go home early due to a TV annoying me and quite frankly ruining my evening and you would not say it was "loud" but still an annoying disturbance. There is something about TV sound that is worse than chatter or music and I think its perhaps your brain is missing the pictures or due to its varied sound output the brain cant block it out to a background "drone".
Many campsites have a rule of no amplified music after 10pm. It should be the same for TVs. After 10pm off or headphones period! If you can hear it its likely that others can if they are close. If people dont obay that rule the campsite should disconnect their EHU until the morning.
As for snoring I totally agree some people are off the Richtor scale!
