Twice now I have reset the form on this reply page..Waffled on a bit both times re this use of space we(as campers)can get a bit obsessed with...
Could'nt get my thoughts together nor put them across in a concise manner..But I wonder sometimes if expansion(camping wise)Is the correct or right way to go sometimes?? Yes we like to be comfy and have the essentials around us..That table..cooker..bed etc that we have bought to make life a bit easier..
But at what cost?? Do we just keep expanding further and further out into the camping field?? without calling a halt sometime???
This from someone with the Icarus 500, enclosed extension, and sometimes (Main Hols) a tarp and windbreaks stuck on the front as well!!! Who keeps looking for ways to cut down on the stuff he takes(Just don't tell me to leave the bivvy beds and double burner with oven behind.....)
Jelboy.
Where we stayed last week, they were debating this same question, & one idea was designated pitches, 10mx10m. It was then up to that camper how they filled said space, either a with a great big one, or 2 or 3 small ones, a gazeebo, whatever. So you would be charged for your pitch, car (parked on a hardstanding road) & 2 adults. You could then charge for additional persons as you saw fit.
For smallies, you could make a 5x5 pitch, again it would be up to the camper what they put in that space. And apply a lesser fee.
So if you have a good length, you would have to use your side exit for sitting out etc.
Sounds a good idea to me...
