Desperate to go to Thurston Manor in Dunbar just outside Edinburgh. Do you think it would be wise after all this rain. Cars been packed for the past week and really missing my tent. Advice please

Do you have it booked? You know yourself the central belt of Scotland has had an absolute pounding of rain today. As franbee suggests, ring the site in the morning.

We have stayed the site a few years ago. I recall the pitches being very rocky underneath. OH struggled with pegging the guys down. Hopefully you will get though as forecast is looking ok for the next few days.

Thank you franbee and krazycamper, phoned the site and they said the rain has certainly affected a lot of pitches but hoping for an improvement for friday, so think I am going to take my chances. And as for BLOOMOONING I dont think there was any need for your comment. I am a grandmother taking 3 grandchildren and 2 foster children on my own and was only looking for some advice from more experienced campers, this will be my 3rd outing so got a lot to learn.

I was worried before I went away the other week so called the site and they informed me that the pitch was flooded but there were alternatives.... we still went and it was fine.  Good luck, I hope it stays fine for you :) Sounds like you will have your hands full!

Fingers crossed for a lovely weekend for all our fellow campers. We are camping at Scone this weekend for three nights to attend the brilliant 80's rewind festival-cant wait!
