We have a Monty 6 and have just got it out to check today prior to going on holiday next week and found mould on it.

We have washed down patches of mildew/mould with some detox spray and reseasled a couple of seams. We couldn't get all the marks off.

Will this have damaged the tent?

Most probably it is perfectly ok. I had the same happen to our Outwell Vermont back in 2008 cleaned it with Milton to kill the mould spores and its been fine ever since. The main problem is if it gets under the tape on the seams as it destroys the glue on the tape and leaky seams result. It is however not recommended to use any household cleaners on the mould especially those that contain sodium hypochlorite as thes can rot the fabric and stiching over a period of time

Thanks for this. We used Dettol mould and mildew spray which I note has sodium hyperchlorite. Do you think this will have damaged it?

It will probably be perfectly Ok as the Dettol is fairly weak so I wouldnt worry and enjoy your holiday
