I've done a quick search and can't seem to find a decent pic.
Don't know if I've got mildew on tent or whether it's dried dust deposited by rain from our last trip a few weeks ago.
After a heavy rain shower we could see the dust in little blobs all over the tent and commented on it to adjacent tent as there's was full of it too, apparently it had blown over from the Sahara.
Now it's fully dried out in kitchen and I'm not sure if it's mildew or dried dust
It looks like little black crosses....and I can't find a picture anywhere to show you....I know that someone on here (Tynxuk maybe) got a tent that was covered and posted some pics.
These are like little round off white spots about the size of a 1/2p. I tried wiping them with a damp cloth and although better they reappear once dry.
I'm tending to think that they're dust from the rain but ingrained, I don't want to rub at the fabric too hard for fear of damaging it.
I also read on the other mildew posts that mildew tends to form on the inside of the tent, but these are all outside - another reason to lean towards dust, just a shame they're all over the tent and it's a Vango Amazon 600 so it's a damn big tent to wipe down all over, just have to hope that next time I'm camping and there's a big down pore it'll wash it off.
You could try using "Nikwax Tech wash" It doesnt sound like mould or mildew to me either

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
If it appeared when the tent was up then I would think it's unlikely to be mildew. We had a tent that got mildew but that was because we packed it away damp and didn't take it our to air quick enough.
And as previously mentioned it would also have amusty smell as well.
Chances are it's just dirt or dust and should just wash off with warm soapy water.
Thanks I've decided it dust and its a bugger to get off wiped at it loads. It disappears when wet but reappears as it dries off ( although not as bad ).
I'm happy to live with it now I know it's not mildew.
