Just wondered what sort of pets you take camping with you!!
As you probably gathered i have 4 ferrets, and they come with us! We've booked into Nantcol Waterfalls in late August, i did tell the owners when booking, and they found it quite funny!!!

Only our dog - the cats stay at home, looked after by a lovely friend who adores looking after them - and as she says it gets her out of her house and a break from her son (who is old enough to look after himself).
The guinea pig also stays at home.
When we were on a DA meet at Easter a couple had brought some of their ferrets with them. They kept them in a cage outside with a sun screen coming down over it. During the day they got them out to have a walk around the field (on leads) and let them have a good runaround inside their pop-top caravan.
My daughter has 2 ferrets but she sadly she doesn't get them out much - ferret lady, would you like some more?!?

Ermmm think i'll pass thanks. Four ferrets and four cats is enough to keep me busy!!!
We took ours to Shell for a couple of nights early June, they loved digging in the sand!! We too take ours out on leads!!

I've seen a couple camping with Guinea Pigs.
They ahd them outside in a lovely run with lots of tunnels and toys.
They said the pigs had been a (wedding or anniversay - can't remember which but seemto think they said wedding) present from their children and they had to bring them because they had no one to look after them
Our dog is no longer with us (nor the birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish)but used to stay with OH's grandmother, the cat goes into the cattery and the Degu stays at home all stocked up on food and water and treats with a neighur keeping an eye on it.
Do you really take the hens camping Rob? I suppose it saves having to shop for eggs
To answer the OP, I used to take my Jack Russell everywhere with me but she's over 14 years old now so I tend to leave her at home in the cold weather or if I'm planning any long-distance walking.
Boo will be joining us when we go off next month. Along with her bed. Toys. Bowls. Various other bits of typical security blanket stuff that makes the average collie feel less freaked out by the change in their surroundings
Daughter and I just got back from first trip with Ziggy, four month old Jack Russell pup. I was worried it might be difficult with him but he was great. We had a secluded pitch so he couldn't see (and bark at) fellow campers. While we were on site we had him tethered with a 10m training lead so he had plenty of freedom to move but couldn't wander off. We just got up every so often to sort out the tangle caused by him threading himself in and out of the guy ropes!
Other than that he had a wonderful time lying around in the grass sniffing the air and watching the birds, only getting up now and again to move to sun/shade as the fancy took him and peeing and pooing at will (all bagged and binned of course)!

Hi, Yes we will be there!!! We are going Sunday the 19th, then go home on the Friday!!! We won't be hard to spot, walking the ferrets!!! Look forward to meeting you!!
As we live in mid wales (we both had a day off together, its a rarity), we took a trip to Nantcol, to see what the site is like. Really impressed, can't wait now. The owners are lovely!!
