During our last few trips we have had some heavy rain and have noticed a problem with our Vango samara 600 extension. As the front door is usually rolled up when it rains hard and the front is dropped the bottom re-enforced shower protector does not lie flat and as the front slopes outwards, with heavy rain this bows in letting rain in. Has anyone else come across this problem? After the rain I did check our pitching which looked ok, but during the rain I did find a work around using the water container. The problem seems to revolve round the fact that once the front door has been rolled us a few times the rain protector at the bottom looses its structure and therefore purpose.

Not this problem, but last week up at Chapel Stile a freek wind took the porch up up and away! Broke my cooker, kitchen stand and just completely ripped off the clips and it was double opegged. Personally I think they are too big.

We had this problem as well on our first trip with teh Samara during asome very 'Welsh' weather, I bought some metal hole reinforcers (not sure what the real name is) from a local craft shop and put them around the rain protector and in bad weather can now peg them down. This seems to keep the extension area dry and stops the wind blowing thru it as well. Hope this helps.

That seems to make sense regarding the pole, will look into something similar.

We had very strong gusts of wind last week in wales which cracked a pole on our Samara 600 Canopy! The wind was pushing the whole front of the canopy in, the crack happened at some point before I managed to get the canopy down.

I think, as the front of the canopy is so big it could really do with an extra eyelet / guide rope straight down the middle of the tent for more gusty days.

ps -anyone know where pole spares for the samara / canopy are available? tried googling but to no avail...
