Well done for only spending £200

If you need a gas bottle... try your local recycling center. Garages or wherever gas is sold/exchanged tend to be more expensive for your first bottle.

Make sure you know what you're going to eat on the first night. You WILL be shattered sorting yourselves out, but if the food is planned... you can relax and enjoy your selves, once the tent is up.

Wish you all a great holiday.

Take lots of pics for us ... please

P.S... don't forget the bottle opener  .. vital piece of kit

Old newspapers make excellent insulation for under the airbed and they're free, plus you don't need to lug them home with you.

Taking stuff from home is great but if you get the bug you may well want stuff just for camping as it makes packing and loading quicker.

£200... Damn good going.
I have been camping for a few years now.... Footprint??? Huh???? You can go on forever buying this and that. The first year i went I borrowed a stove... and forgot it. i bought a single butane ring locally when i got to devon from leeds. I borrowed airbeds and replaced as needed. I have bought things bit by bit, year by year. i have yet to buy carpets. for me it was buy it if I felt I really needed it. Storage at home is tight too. the first year it was all very basic. I have noticed though... families and camping. My friends pull up to the pitch, pour the kids out who have new best friends within seconds. get the tent up and sit and enjoy. which i am sure you will do. Relax, talk to other campers about the kits they have, some will have more, some less. I once met a family who took the tumble drier, microwave, mini electric oven and iron and ironing board. I am one who has little but enjoys it all the same.
