Over the years I have noticed how many people do not recycle waste correctly.
For instance, at the site we have just returned from, we were given a large bag when we checked in, which listed the items to recycle in it, as requested by the local council.
At the end of our stay we went to the compound which clearly labelled where waste should be left. We dropped our recycling bag into the correct bin. When we opened the garbage bin to deposit our sandwich bag of rubbish, it was completely full, of cardboard, plastic bottles, beer cans and so on, all recyclable.
This is not just a UK thing, we notice this on campsites in France too, and as we camp out of season with lots of Dutch and Germans, we expect better of them.

We take 2 bins with us (these) - one for normal rubbish and one with green recycled bin bags for the recycling

Sadly, I've also seen that on far too many occasions
It really takes very little effort to separate them.
I just have 2 separate carrier bags hanging up - one for rubbish and one for recycling - it's not rocket science

We use a plastic bag for stuff that can`t be recycled and then use a cardboard box (one we got tins of beer or pop in )for the stuff that can be recycled. That way when we take the recycling stuff to the bins, we can even recycle what we took it in

Sadly, this happens all too often with home recycling, even when kerbside collections are in operation. I'm afraid if people can't be bothered at home, they're unlikely to do it when away camping.
