Hi everyone,

Was just wondering if it was possible to go camping using just the Cobb for cooking? Could I use it to boil water for instance?

What do Cobb owners take, we take along a suitcase single ring gas hob thing too!

Wanted to see if it was feasible!!

Possible although I personally wouldn't want to.

The Cobb along with our two ring burner and grill offers us soo many different options. I wouldn't want to fire it up just to boil water on. It's not really what its made for..

That said. If you have the wok attachment, you could make all manner of stews and currys and even some soup. I love our Cobb..

You can boil water on a Cobb, I frequently put the kettle on after I have finished cooking.

I would not light the Cobb just to boil the kettle though!

We have used our Cobb to boil water, but it is not the quickest was.   On a personal note, I would also take something that gives ibstany heat, such as a suitcase stove.

We ended up having just the Cobb when we camped in the Outer Hebrides as the regulator broke on the gas bottle.

It is possible but not great when you need that first cup of tea in the morning!

I would always take a gas option as well as my COBB BBQ.
They are releasing a larger version now as we'll .
Quick hot drink is only quick on the gas.
I don't like the suitcase gas options, too big.
I use a Bulin stove, with small remote gas bottle.

We had to do it last year as I lost the key to the roofbox where our stove was stored.

As above coffee/tea was slow

I agree with other posts, I would not light cobb just for boiling water. I have a trangia,primus stove,sunncamp double burner and grill ( propane).......
