If it hasn't leaked when you've hosed it down, it sounds like the tent is fine. Perhaps it was just the weather when you pitched it combined with some water that was in the tent via your attempts to get the zip unclogged. I wouldn't really give too much attention to getting the tent soaked in detergent as 9 times out of 10 the tent bag itself is as waterproof as the tent - and if you've just sponged it down, then there's little chance much liquid would have got inside the bag. It might have just been something as simple as it wasn't pitched correctly for example overstretched poles, guylines. The flysheet sitting incorrectly or the little vent at the top not connected properly.(Don't worry - It happens to us all at some point). Perhaps if you pitch it and leave something on the floor of the tent like a flattened cardboard box for a couple of days and see if the box is dry after that. If it is then you can rest assured the tent is fine.
