Hi all,
A question to more seasoned campers,we are currently in Cornwall and experiencing wet and very windy conditions,is it better to close all the vents in winds or leave them open, the poles are fine and so far standing up to the weather, thank goodness!!
Oh we have a Athens 6 by Royal, and so far no leaks either(fingers crossed)
Thanks for reading and look forward to feedback!!

Well we have so far had thunder, lightning, rain and the Mega winds! we are in ilfracombe - last night here then off to Dartmoor for a week. We have had both front and back vents open plus used deltas.
------------- 2015 April: Polstead, Suffolk. May: Two Acres, Ely. Waveney River Centre and Whitehall Farm, Norfolk. Aug: Howstean Gorge / The Quiet Site / Fron Farm / Cae Du / Trevayne Farm - BOOKED!
Vents will make a negligible difference. Check your pegs, check your guys. If possible, use a car as a wind-break by parking it between the wind and the tent.
We closed all our vents when the windy weather came. We were camping down in Devon last week with our new Outwell Louisiana 7P tent and I'm afraid our was also one of the many tents that got destroyed in the high winds. It was pegged down very very well, and we checked all the guy ropes on numerous occasions but unfortunately the front roof of the tent came away from the panel and we had a great bit rip in the tent. We were gutted, especially having to cut our holiday short.
