Just replace the red plastic cap and pack them upright - they're no more dangerous than most of the other aerosols you probably already have in the boot (or bathroom, kitchen etc) many which contain butane or similar gas.
I have never seen an aerosol that contains 6kg of propane, not to mention the extra pressure in a LPG canister. Still it's your life, you risk it anyway you choose, I just hope that I am not about if it all goes T+ts up. Steve W
SummerSky seemed to be referring to small aerosol type disposable cartridges.
I'd agree with millermicm and fran1000 that a unsecured cylinder presents a serious hazard, more likely imho to cause injury from impact rather than fire.
