HI FOLKS.        Can anyone tell me the best method of  cleaning birdmuck off an innertent please,we got a blackbird trapped between the inner and outer tents on a recent trip to norfolk .

Inner tents are not normally waterproofed like the outer skin and can therefore handle more robust cleaning. Will it fit in your washing machine?

No No No don't put it in the washing machine . Just a damp cloth should be enough .

I have washed my inner tent/bed pod several times and they have been fine. I usually do this once a year at the start of our camping season to freshen them up. Use non bio and don't bother with any fabric conditioner. To dry them off simply hang them back inside the tent. Make sure it's thoroughly dry before packing the tent away.

Dont spin them though as water can get trapped in the SIG and either damage your bedroom pod or washing machine or both

If a tent or inner tent is ? Waterproof most have a very low HH to stop condensation drips then washing the inner in a washing machine will affect the waterproofing maybe not straight away but I'm no expert on every inner tent and some probably will stand it but I wouldn't put any of my tent inners in a washing machine I prefer to stay dry rather than have a spotless tent

My inner tent probably wouldn't fit in my small washing machine and, even if it did, I'd probably not risk damaging the machine.  My tent is 15 years old and I do put the inner tent in the bath for a good slosh round with some nice smelling soft soaps every other season or so to keep things fresh, and its never done any harm.  The smell of the freshly laundered cotton is better than chocolate (and I love my chocolate)!

my inner tent would have to be very very dirty for me to wash it. Life is too short and all that For birdmuck I would use a warm wet cloth and some washing up liquid if it was very stubborn. On the tent itself plain wet kitchen roll as soon as possible, I had to ask hubby to do this twice on the last trip, too high up for me to reach (or that was my excuse)

I would use warm water and soap, it will come off eventually. Someone said better a dirty inner than a leaky one.
