I am having a nightmare getting my hands on a carpet for 2012 Trout Lake 4. I know they're not essential kit but they are lovely underfoot!

Can anyone help or advise whether a different Outwell carpet will fit? The Outwell 5 carpet is 50cm wider so I could trim it but would prefer not to as my sewing skill are more than a bit rubbish!

Thanks.

Emma

Just get the wider carpet that you have seen and fold the extra over at the edge.

Got both my Outwell carpets, altered to fit my Cabanon Tent, Outwell carpets used were, Minesota 6 for the living area and Wolf Lake 5 for the bedroom pod.

Lady on our local market did them for me made to measure style, who normaly does clothing alterations, £10 per carpet, which I thought was reasonable.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Probably the best solution is to get the Trout Lake 5 carpet as Krazykamper suggested & see if I can find someone to alter it like Francais did.

Francais - I notice you're in the North West, which market was it?

Youlbury, yes, I tried Yeoman's this morning. Unfortunately they're out of stock & the Trout lake 4 will be a different shape next year, hexagonal at the front to get more panoramic windows on the tent. Unfortunately I don't know anyone in Stockton on Lees...boo! Thanks for looking into it for me though - very kind.

Outwell Michigan 8, you will have to alter the sides, it's the right width 310 cm and length is 265 cm

Or Outwell Montery 4 width is 310cm and length is 155 cm up to front angle of the tent and leave the remaining groundsheet bare.

Hi Francais,

If you could that would be great. I used to live in Hollins village so I know the market. It's been a long time since I was last there though so would be good to go again.

Thanks again.

Thanks youlbury, I'll have a look at those as an alternative.

I would suggest making a template with some large piece of paper, then go to your local discount carpet outlet and ask them to cut a piece of their finest axminster and give yourself that bit of luxury in the tent.

Old thread, I know, but I`m pretty slow on the uptake and have only recently acquired a replacement Trout Lake 4 and needed to find a footprint and carpet for it. After reading this thread and hours of trawling the internet, it was abundantly clear that dedicated Trout Lake 4 footprint and carpet were as rare as rocking horse droppings. So I studied recent Outwell tunnel tents and found that the Nevada 4, Nevada S and the Covington 4 were approximately the same size and only marginally shorter on the width. I picked up a Nevada S footprint for £10 and a Covington 4 carpet for £30, both brand new on Fleabay. Just thought I`d post this for anyone else, who, like me, only realised that the Trout Lake 4 was such a fantastic tent until after it had been discontinued.

Thank you very much! I’ll start looking now! I agree, it’s a great tent, it’s my favourite out of all of mine. Thanks again.

You`re most welcome, dear lady.If you need a footprint groundsheet, there is a Nevada S on Ebay at the moment for £14 including P&P. Carpets for the Nevada 4 around £60 upwards. The carpet, by my calculations, will be about 8" or 20cm short on the width (4" short of each side entrance) but the length from bedroom compartment to front door is the same. I sincerely hope that your 5 year quest is drawing to a close. If I see anything else that is suitable, I`ll let you know.
