A bit of a mish mash on the cutlery/plates/mugs etc here I'm afraid..
A few melamine plates that match...A whole lot of cutlery that dose not and assorted mugs/cups/glasses etc...
Not too bothered that nothing matches as their only to eat off/drink out of but I do have my favorite cups...1) an insulated mug that keeps the tea warm longer...2) A china mug decorated with fishing scenes...Took a fellow members wee lad fishing on one of the meets one time...He presented me with this mug as a present at the end of the weekend and I use it for my morning cuppa every trip...
I also use a nice cut glass whiskey glass on an evening that my daughter bought for me a few years ago..Nice size for a measure...Nice feel to it in the hand..Nice wee glass which I look after...Cleaned and put back in its presentation box at the end of each trip...
Jelboy.

I use melamine plates and plastic glasses plus a set of basic cheap cutlery from adsa, but I HATE drinking my coffee out of melamine mugs, it just doesn't seem to taste right.
Instead I bought a set of four stacking mugs in a metal stand. Proper mugs - much better. As long as pack them well I seem to have suffered no breakages. Admittedly they are heavier but I'd rather cut out some weight elsewhere!

Got fed with a collection of plastic and melamine crockery never matching, so about 5 years ago we snapped up a bargain at Ikeas winter sale, all in white, 6 mugs, 6 dinner plates, 6 side plates, 6 bowls & 6 knife’s, forks & spoons for £20 !! I know its heavy but as there are only 2 of us we just take 3 of each just in case, so far we have only broken 1 mug & 1 bowl in 5 years, also use Ikea glass tumblers for G&T's,Wine & Beer & 99p for 6.
Food seems tastes so much nicer on “proper” crockery, we are lucky just being 2 of us, it wouldn’t suit a family as the weight would not be very practical, but for couples, it’s ideal.
It's called "posh" eating. (lol)

Is there an opposite to glamping? Tramping, maybe?
Anyway, that's what we are. Our stuff is odds and ends from home, that are suprlus to requirements. When 2 plates cracked because S2BX put them on the stove that had only just been turned off, we got a couple more for 10p each from a charity shop in Llanelli.
None of our stuff matches and we really don't mind!

I would like some bigger pasta bowls though, we found eating outside means bigger appetites and our little cereal bowls aren't big enough.
We found that too so we use the melamine salad bowls with might be a little too big but it does mean you can get the pasta nearer your mouth without it splatting everywhere :)

Oval metal plates that were only lurking at the back of the cupboard.
Cutlery set that we were given as a gift
Plastic cups for cool drinks - bought years ago but still tidy
Proper mugs that stack in a metal stand, two of which broken by my drippy teenager (only new purchase, typical!!)
On our last trip, whilst doing communal washing up, my nice Dutch neighbour recommended that I buy plastic stuff, didn't have the heart to say I chose to bring all this instead of plastic.

We've got sporks and the clip-together-camping cutlery, Poundland metal bowls, 1960'S Melaware plates, Ikea stackable mugs and my metal cafetiere. There's usually a stack of plastic cups and a proper wine glass as well.
Everything (except the cafetiere lives in a crate in the airing cupboard, so it's easy to get to for picnic's and camping. I've got loads of plastic plates and bowls in this box, but always take the same pieces every time we go away.

I use a Corelle dinner service that belonged to my nan, it is about 30 years old and completely unbreakable yet feels like china.....
