Well last weekend was my birthday so we decided to take advantage of the local long weekend holiday and go away for 3 nights. Went to Rosetta in Peebles a site we've been to before. Weather forecast was for -1 overnight with clear skies during the day but we actually ended up recording -4 on Sat night. Was really pleased that we were warm and cosy. Kids had double jammies, hats, hot water bottles and gloves inside their sleeping bags and I'd put space blankets down as extra insulation under the airbeds. We used 3 double sleeping bags lol. One as a fitted sheet on the airbed for insulation, the 3 season one to sleep in and an extra one over the top as a cover. We also had EHU so the fan heater was on at points.
Was one of the best birthday mornings ever. Bright and still, the sun was pouring into the tent. Just as I got my cuppa and a roll and sausage a hot air balloon came coasting right over the tent, it was so close! New tent (the Vango Monte Verde 900) was amazing (review coming up) So much space for the kids to play and really versatile with the enclosed porch. Hubby is (thankfully) well chuffed being as I chose it and ordered it. Weather deteriorated on Sunday night and we had torrential rain and 50mph gusts. Tent stood up perfectly to it all. Striking in those conditions was.....hmm, interesting let's say, but fair play, the tent took it all in it's stride.

Great pics, glad u had a good break and the tent looks nice (and big).

Its really exciting when you see a hot air balloon nearby, had one overhead on one of my walks to work last week - it was cold at 8am at ground level, can only imagine how cold it would be up there.

I can't wait for my MV900 to arrive, won't be going away in it this year but hope to get it up in the garden to look it over (if it will fit!!).

I see you have the carpet already, I need to look into the best price for that.

I got the mv carpet for £90 delivered, I think that's about average. You may get it cheaper if you hang on.
In the porch I'm using 2 coleman generic carpets which were £25 quid each and from my last tent. Fit perfectly though

Did you get the dog to match the carpet, or the carpet to match the dog!!!

Just one word of advice, if I may..... guard that last pic with your life..... it may prove to be rare, as they grow older!!

We share the same taste in fan heaters lol ours was on all night over the weekend. Great pics, if only we could get clear days like those in the summer.
