Advice please,

had my first outing last weekend (in my new faulty tent) and I noticed some tiny pin holes in the fly sheet, an area about the size of my hand with my be 1/2 dozen holes in total. Thankfully it did not rain so no problems, but I am away again this coming weekend so I would like to attempted a repair. Do you think a seam sealing product would do the job or just a general purpuse waterproofer?

As said the holes are only very small.

It's polyester material and thinking about it they are probably imperfections in the material, so as you say they may well not leak, but I was just thinking worst case senario.

I'll take some seam sealer with me, 'be prepared, dib dib dib'.

The tent was sold to me with unknow faults, so I paid my money and took my chance.

I got a new gobi 4 with unknown faults for £40 these tents usually go for around £180.

If the faults (when found) were unacceptable to me I could have had a full refund.

The faults were, a snapped shock cord, 4 small holes in the ground sheet and the small pin holes mentioned.

So it has cost me less than £10 to repair.

I am happy.

I know this is now a problem solved, but for others reading or having the same problem.

I had a canvas tent with quite large holes caused by strain on the stitching, perhaps a millimeter or two in diameter. They never let in any water as the rain tends to bead due to surface tension.

The only time water would leak through is if a puddle formed in the area of the holes. Glad you got a bargain and solved the very minor problems.
